Revelation Order (9)

ٱللَّيْل

Al-Layl

(The Night)

بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful

Surah 92 - Al-Layl - 1

وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰ

By the night as it covers.
Surah 92 - Al-Layl - 2

وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰ

And the day as it reveals.
Surah 92 - Al-Layl - 3

وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ

And He who created the male and the female.
Surah 92 - Al-Layl - 4

إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّىٰ

Your endeavors are indeed diverse.
Surah 92 - Al-Layl - 5

فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَىٰ وَٱتَّقَىٰ

As for him who gives and is righteous.
Surah 92 - Al-Layl - 6

وَصَدَّقَ بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ

And confirms goodness.
Surah 92 - Al-Layl - 7

فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ

We will ease his way towards ease.
Surah 92 - Al-Layl - 8

وَأَمَّا مَنۢ بَخِلَ وَٱسْتَغْنَىٰ

But as for him who is stingy and complacent.
Surah 92 - Al-Layl - 9

وَكَذَّبَ بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ

And denies goodness.
Surah 92 - Al-Layl - 10

فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلْعُسْرَىٰ

We will ease his way towards difficulty.
Surah 92 - Al-Layl - 11

وَمَا يُغْنِى عَنْهُ مَالُهُۥٓ إِذَا تَرَدَّىٰٓ

And his money will not avail him when he plummets.
Surah 92 - Al-Layl - 12

إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا لَلْهُدَىٰ

It is upon Us to guide.
Surah 92 - Al-Layl - 13

وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلْـَٔاخِرَةَ وَٱلْأُولَىٰ

And to Us belong the Last and the First.
Surah 92 - Al-Layl - 14

فَأَنذَرْتُكُمْ نَارًۭا تَلَظَّىٰ

I have warned you of a Fierce Blaze.
Surah 92 - Al-Layl - 15

لَا يَصْلَىٰهَآ إِلَّا ٱلْأَشْقَى

None will burn in it except the very wicked.
Surah 92 - Al-Layl - 16

ٱلَّذِى كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ

He who denies and turns away.
Surah 92 - Al-Layl - 17

وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا ٱلْأَتْقَى

But the devout will avoid it.
Surah 92 - Al-Layl - 18

ٱلَّذِى يُؤْتِى مَالَهُۥ يَتَزَكَّىٰ

He who gives his money to become pure.
Surah 92 - Al-Layl - 19

وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ عِندَهُۥ مِن نِّعْمَةٍۢ تُجْزَىٰٓ

Seeking no favor in return.
Surah 92 - Al-Layl - 20

إِلَّا ٱبْتِغَآءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ

Only seeking the acceptance of his Lord, the Most High.
Surah 92 - Al-Layl - 21

وَلَسَوْفَ يَرْضَىٰ

And he will be satisfied.

We strive towards diverse goals. For those who are charitable, who believe and do good, God will grant ease. The others will have hardships. Wealth will not rescue one from Hell.
