Revelation Order (8)

ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ

Al-A'laa

(The Most High)

بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful

Surah 87 - Al-A'laa - 1

سَبِّحِ ٱسْمَ رَبِّكَ ٱلْأَعْلَى

Praise the Name of your Lord, the Most High.
Surah 87 - Al-A'laa - 2

ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ

He who creates and regulates.
Surah 87 - Al-A'laa - 3

وَٱلَّذِى قَدَّرَ فَهَدَىٰ

He who measures and guides.
Surah 87 - Al-A'laa - 4

وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَخْرَجَ ٱلْمَرْعَىٰ

He who produces the pasture.
Surah 87 - Al-A'laa - 5

فَجَعَلَهُۥ غُثَآءً أَحْوَىٰ

And then turns it into light debris.
Surah 87 - Al-A'laa - 6

سَنُقْرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنسَىٰٓ

We will make you read, so do not forget.
Surah 87 - Al-A'laa - 7

إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ يَعْلَمُ ٱلْجَهْرَ وَمَا يَخْفَىٰ

Except what God wills. He knows what is declared, and what is hidden.
Surah 87 - Al-A'laa - 8

وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ

We will ease you into the Easy Way.
Surah 87 - Al-A'laa - 9

فَذَكِّرْ إِن نَّفَعَتِ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ

So remind, if reminding helps.
Surah 87 - Al-A'laa - 10

سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰ

The reverent will remember.
Surah 87 - Al-A'laa - 11

وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا ٱلْأَشْقَى

But the wretched will avoid it.
Surah 87 - Al-A'laa - 12

ٱلَّذِى يَصْلَى ٱلنَّارَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ

He who will enter the Gigantic Fire.
Surah 87 - Al-A'laa - 13

ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَىٰ

Where he will neither die, nor live.
Surah 87 - Al-A'laa - 14

قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّىٰ

Successful is he who purifies himself.
Surah 87 - Al-A'laa - 15

وَذَكَرَ ٱسْمَ رَبِّهِۦ فَصَلَّىٰ

And mentions the name of his Lord, and prays.
Surah 87 - Al-A'laa - 16

بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا

But you prefer the present life.
Surah 87 - Al-A'laa - 17

وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةُ خَيْرٌۭ وَأَبْقَىٰٓ

Though the Hereafter is better, and more lasting.
Surah 87 - Al-A'laa - 18

إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَفِى ٱلصُّحُفِ ٱلْأُولَىٰ

This is in the former scriptures.
Surah 87 - Al-A'laa - 19

صُحُفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ

The Scriptures of Abraham and Moses.
Summarized notes on Surah Al-A'laa

Praise be to God, Who created, fashioned, decreed and guided. Recite Quran to not forget. Disbelievers will be punished. Believers who remember and pray will prosper. Hereafter is much better and more lasting. These have been in previous scriptures too; including the ones revealed to Ibrahim/Abraham (PBUH) and Musa/Moses (PBUH).
