ٱلْمَاعُون

Al-Maa'oon

(The Neighbourly Assistance)

بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful

Surah 107 - Al-Maa'oon - 1

أَرَءَيْتَ ٱلَّذِى يُكَذِّبُ بِٱلدِّينِ

Have you considered him who denies the religion?

Surah 107 - Al-Maa'oon - 2

فَذَٰلِكَ ٱلَّذِى يَدُعُّ ٱلْيَتِيمَ

It is he who mistreats the orphan.

Surah 107 - Al-Maa'oon - 3

وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلْمِسْكِينِ

And does not encourage the feeding of the poor.

Surah 107 - Al-Maa'oon - 4

فَوَيْلٌۭ لِّلْمُصَلِّينَ

So woe to those who pray.

Surah 107 - Al-Maa'oon - 5

ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَن صَلَاتِهِمْ سَاهُونَ

Those who are heedless of their prayers.

Surah 107 - Al-Maa'oon - 6

ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ يُرَآءُونَ

Those who put on the appearance.

Surah 107 - Al-Maa'oon - 7

وَيَمْنَعُونَ ٱلْمَاعُونَ

And withhold the assistance.

The one who denies Day of Judgement is one who has no feelings for orphans and destitute. Woe on to believers unmindful of prayer; those who only show, and refuse help to others.
