ٱلْهُمَزَة

Al-Humazah

(The Slanderer)

بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful

Surah 104 - Al-Humazah - 1

وَيْلٌۭ لِّكُلِّ هُمَزَةٍۢ لُّمَزَةٍ

Woe to every slanderer backbiter.
Surah 104 - Al-Humazah - 2

ٱلَّذِى جَمَعَ مَالًۭا وَعَدَّدَهُۥ

Who gathers wealth and counts it over.
Surah 104 - Al-Humazah - 3

يَحْسَبُ أَنَّ مَالَهُۥٓ أَخْلَدَهُۥ

Thinking that his wealth has made him immortal.
Surah 104 - Al-Humazah - 4

كَلَّا ۖ لَيُنۢبَذَنَّ فِى ٱلْحُطَمَةِ

By no means. He will be thrown into the Crusher.
Surah 104 - Al-Humazah - 5

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْحُطَمَةُ

And what will make you realize what the Crusher is?
Surah 104 - Al-Humazah - 6

نَارُ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُوقَدَةُ

God's kindled Fire.
Surah 104 - Al-Humazah - 7

ٱلَّتِى تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى ٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةِ

That laps to the hearts.
Surah 104 - Al-Humazah - 8

إِنَّهَا عَلَيْهِم مُّؤْصَدَةٌۭ

It closes in on them.
Surah 104 - Al-Humazah - 9

فِى عَمَدٍۢ مُّمَدَّدَةٍۭ

Woe onto every scandal monger, fault-finder; who amasses wealth and keeps counting it, thinking that it will make them immortal. Surely, they will be punished in Hell - filled with towering columns of fire.
