ٱلطَّارِق

At-Taariq

(The Morning Star)

بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful

Surah 86 - At-Taariq - 1

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلطَّارِقِ

By the sky and at-Tariq.
Surah 86 - At-Taariq - 2

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلطَّارِقُ

But what will let you know what at-Tariq is?
Surah 86 - At-Taariq - 3

ٱلنَّجْمُ ٱلثَّاقِبُ

The Piercing Star.
Surah 86 - At-Taariq - 4

إِن كُلُّ نَفْسٍۢ لَّمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌۭ

There is no soul without a Protector over it.
Surah 86 - At-Taariq - 5

فَلْيَنظُرِ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ

Let man consider what he was created from.
Surah 86 - At-Taariq - 6

خُلِقَ مِن مَّآءٍۢ دَافِقٍۢ

He was created from gushing liquid.
Surah 86 - At-Taariq - 7

يَخْرُجُ مِنۢ بَيْنِ ٱلصُّلْبِ وَٱلتَّرَآئِبِ

Issuing from between the backbone and the breastbones.
Surah 86 - At-Taariq - 8

إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ رَجْعِهِۦ لَقَادِرٌۭ

He is certainly able to return him.
Surah 86 - At-Taariq - 9

يَوْمَ تُبْلَى ٱلسَّرَآئِرُ

On the Day when the secrets are disclosed.
Surah 86 - At-Taariq - 10

فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن قُوَّةٍۢ وَلَا نَاصِرٍۢ

He will have no strength, and no supporter.
Surah 86 - At-Taariq - 11

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلرَّجْعِ

By the sky that returns.
Surah 86 - At-Taariq - 12

وَٱلْأَرْضِ ذَاتِ ٱلصَّدْعِ

And the earth that cracks open.
Surah 86 - At-Taariq - 13

إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلٌۭ فَصْلٌۭ

It is a Decisive Word.
Surah 86 - At-Taariq - 14

وَمَا هُوَ بِٱلْهَزْلِ

It is no joke.
Surah 86 - At-Taariq - 15

إِنَّهُمْ يَكِيدُونَ كَيْدًۭا

They plot and scheme.
Surah 86 - At-Taariq - 16

وَأَكِيدُ كَيْدًۭا

But I plot and scheme.
Surah 86 - At-Taariq - 17

فَمَهِّلِ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدًۢا

Therefore, give the blasphemers respite, a brief respite.
Summarized notes on Surah At-Taariq

Every soul has a guardian over it. Consider how man was created just from a gushing fluid. (Similarly) God is indeed able to return man to life after death. Every thought will be uncovered and there will be no helper. The Quran is a decisive word - no flippant jest (joke). Let the disbelievers plan against Muhammad (PBUH), and God will plan against them. Leave them.
