ٱلْإِنْشِقَاق

Al-Inshiqaaq

(Splitting Open)

بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful

Surah 84 - Al-Inshiqaaq - 1

إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنشَقَّتْ

When the sky is ruptured.
Surah 84 - Al-Inshiqaaq - 2

وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ

And hearkens to its Lord, as it must.
Surah 84 - Al-Inshiqaaq - 3

وَإِذَا ٱلْأَرْضُ مُدَّتْ

And when the earth is leveled out.
Surah 84 - Al-Inshiqaaq - 4

وَأَلْقَتْ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتْ

And casts out what is in it, and becomes empty.
Surah 84 - Al-Inshiqaaq - 5

وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ

And hearkens to its Lord, as it must.
Surah 84 - Al-Inshiqaaq - 6

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدْحًۭا فَمُلَـٰقِيهِ

O man! You are laboring towards your Lord, and you will meet Him.
Surah 84 - Al-Inshiqaaq - 7

فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ

As for him who is given his book in his right hand.
Surah 84 - Al-Inshiqaaq - 8

فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًۭا يَسِيرًۭا

He will have an easy settlement.
Surah 84 - Al-Inshiqaaq - 9

وَيَنقَلِبُ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ مَسْرُورًۭا

And will return to his family delighted.
Surah 84 - Al-Inshiqaaq - 10

وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ وَرَآءَ ظَهْرِهِۦ

But as for him who is given his book behind his back.
Surah 84 - Al-Inshiqaaq - 11

فَسَوْفَ يَدْعُوا۟ ثُبُورًۭا

He will call for death.
Surah 84 - Al-Inshiqaaq - 12

وَيَصْلَىٰ سَعِيرًا

And will enter the Blaze.
Surah 84 - Al-Inshiqaaq - 13

إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فِىٓ أَهْلِهِۦ مَسْرُورًا

He used to be happy among his family.
Surah 84 - Al-Inshiqaaq - 14

إِنَّهُۥ ظَنَّ أَن لَّن يَحُورَ

He thought he would never return.
Surah 84 - Al-Inshiqaaq - 15

بَلَىٰٓ إِنَّ رَبَّهُۥ كَانَ بِهِۦ بَصِيرًۭا

In fact, his Lord was watching him.
Surah 84 - Al-Inshiqaaq - 16

فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلشَّفَقِ

I swear by the twilight.
Surah 84 - Al-Inshiqaaq - 17

وَٱلَّيْلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ

And by the night, and what it covers.
Surah 84 - Al-Inshiqaaq - 18

وَٱلْقَمَرِ إِذَا ٱتَّسَقَ

And by the moon, as it grows full.
Surah 84 - Al-Inshiqaaq - 19

لَتَرْكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَن طَبَقٍۢ

You will mount stage by stage.
Surah 84 - Al-Inshiqaaq - 20

فَمَا لَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ

What is the matter with them that they do not believe?
Surah 84 - Al-Inshiqaaq - 21

وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْقُرْءَانُ لَا يَسْجُدُونَ ۩

And when the Quran is read to them, they do not bow down?
Surah 84 - Al-Inshiqaaq - 22

بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يُكَذِّبُونَ

In fact, those who disbelieve are in denial.
Surah 84 - Al-Inshiqaaq - 23

وَٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ

But God knows what they hide inside.
Surah 84 - Al-Inshiqaaq - 24

فَبَشِّرْهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ

So inform them of a painful punishment.
Surah 84 - Al-Inshiqaaq - 25

إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍۭ

Except those who believe and do good deeds; they will have an undiminished reward.
Summarized notes on Surah Al-Inshiqaaq

On the Last Day, the heavens and earth will be split up/spread out, and will listen to the command of God. Man will meet God that Day. Whoever is given account in right hand will get Paradise. The others will be punished - for they lived sunk in pleasure, thinking never will there be a return after death.

Don't be ignorant about the Quran. God is All-Knowing. For those who believe and do good works, their rewards will never be cut off.
